Tool list:
Disassembly:
2. Disconnect the plug that is under the motor connection cover (at the end of 346). Again, be careful not to break the plastic connections.
3. There are two #10/24 screws (330) use a Phillips #2 (cross style) screwdriver to remove.
4. Now you can remove the wrap drum cover (332).
5. On the back of the cable anchor bracket (326) you will see two #6-19 (350) use a Phillips #2 (cross style) screwdriver to remove them. I use one long one and a right-angle ratcheting screwdriver.
6. Now the coil cord cover (324) is loose. Slide coil cord cover forward and remove coil cord assembly (336).
7. I used a pair of wire cutters to cut the broken coil cover down the center to remove and discard. Be careful not to cut any wires or protective sheathing when removing the old coil cover.
Reassembly:
1. Once the original coil cover has been removed, we can start the installation of the UCC.
2. Use the four (4) provided #6-32 screws to bolt the upper and lower UCC together around the control cables and wires. Be careful not to pinch any of the wires.
3. Scoot the UCC up the cables carefully aligning with the upper portion of the cable anchor bracket.
4. Slide the new UCC on to the cable anchor bracket (326).
5. Use the two (2) provided #6-32 screws to attach the bottom half to the cable anchor bracket (326).
6. Make sure to align the coil cord assembly (336) so that it does not get pinched.
7. Place the wrap drum cover (332) back on the cable anchor bracket (326).
8. Replace the two stock #10/24 screws (330) use a Phillips #2 (cross style) screwdriver.
9. Connect the motor connection plug. Be careful not to break the plastic connections.
10. Replace the motor connection cover, (334) again I used a little flat blade screwdriver to help pry on the tang carefully (be careful not to break the plastic tang).
11. That completes the installation of the UCC.
This is an opportune time to replace the cable jacket (348) but it is not required.
